Burn Care
Hours and Other Visiting Information
The Regional Burn Center is a unique environment. To best meet your needs, we have special policies in place to control the risk for infections, ensure privacy, and limit the noise and traffic in the unit.
When you arrive
Call the reception area at 610-402-8734 to announce your arrival.
Visiting hours
Family members are welcome to be by their loved one’s side up to 20 hours a day.
Identifying a spokesperson
When it comes to updates on a patient’s condition or education on care, it’s important to designate one family member to be the spokesperson between the care team and other family members. This limits the number of calls into the Regional Burn Center and allows us to spend more time with your loved one. When you call, you may be asked to give us a code to identify yourself.
Confidentiality
We are fully compliant with the medical privacy act called HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) which ensures privacy for you and your loved one.
Preventing infection
When you enter the Regional Burn Center, you’ll see a hand-wash and gowning station. Please wash your hands and put on a gown and gloves before entering any patient room. You’ll need to discard your gown and gloves before leaving the room you are visiting, and wash your hands again when exiting. We’ll remind you of this procedure the first time you visit.
